Privacy policy
Littleton Aquarium collects the information you choose to provide when signing up for updates: your email address, optional first and last name, and your mobile number if you opt into text updates.
Updates and offers
We use your details to maintain our subscriber list and record your choices about opening news, early access, discounts, and promotions. Email and text permissions are recorded separately. Joining the email list does not sign you up for text messages.
Advertising and website measurement
We use Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to measure visits and successful signups, understand which campaigns bring subscribers, and help deliver relevant advertising on Facebook and Instagram. When advertising tracking is allowed, information shared with Meta can include the page visited, event time, browser and click identifiers, IP address, browser information, and securely hashed contact details used to match a signup. Hashing protects the format of contact details during transfer; it does not make them anonymous.
We also keep the original and most recent campaign information associated with a signup. This can include campaign, ad set and ad identifiers, referral website, landing page, and campaign tags. We may use eligible subscriber information to create advertising audiences or exclude existing subscribers from signup ads. Your email or text signup is independent of your advertising choice. Text-message permission records are not included in advertising events or audience uploads.
Your advertising choices
Use Privacy choices at the bottom of this page to opt out of Meta advertising measurement and use of your activity or contact details for Meta advertising. You can still sign up for aquarium updates. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser. When it is on, advertising tracking is off.
Your browser choice is stored in a first-party cookie. An advertising opt-out stops new Meta tracking from this browser and cancels pending server advertising events associated with it. Cookies and local storage used for campaign attribution and Meta identifiers are cleared from this browser when you opt out. A privacy identifier may remain so we can honor your choice. If you clear cookies or use another browser or device, you may need to set the choice again. To apply an advertising opt-out to your subscriber contact record, contact us using the email below.
Cookies and local storage
We use first-party cookies for essential signup security and privacy choices. When advertising tracking is allowed, Meta identifiers and limited campaign information may also be stored in cookies or local storage. Advertising identifiers and browser campaign attribution expire after up to 90 days; the browser privacy-choice cookie lasts up to one year. Subscriber and consent records are kept separately from browser storage.
Consent and security records
We keep the consent wording presented, its version, signup time, signup page and campaign, IP address, and browser information. These records help document permission and prevent abuse. Supplying contact details does not verify that you own the email address or phone number.
Storage and service providers
Signup information is stored in our private database. Service providers may operate the website, process advertising events, and, when messaging is introduced, deliver messages on our behalf. Meta processes advertising information under its own Privacy Policy. We do not share text-message opt-in information or consent with other companies for their own marketing.
Access, correction, and withdrawal
Text updates are optional and are not a condition of purchase. You can withdraw permission or request access, correction, or removal of your signup information by emailing info@littletonaquarium.org. When marketing messages begin, email messages will include an unsubscribe link and text messages will support STOP to opt out. We may retain limited consent, suppression, and withdrawal records to document and honor your preferences.
